Dr Holger Grimm studied Economics in Münster and History of Art in Würzburg, Vienna, Munich, Cologne and Bonn.

His dissertation describes "The Life and Work of Carl Herpfer", a scholar of Piloty and Ramberg in Munich.

He began as an author for the well known AKL – Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon and the ÖBL – Österreichisches Biographisches Lexikon.

He worked as an auctioneer and art historian in auction houses in Lower Saxony for more than 18 years.
